Best cordless leaf blowers: battery blowers for lawns, paths and drives
Autumn leaves turn slippery and smother lawns, and raking a long drive gets old quickly. A battery blower clears paths and patios in minutes without a cable to drag around. Here are seven cordless blowers on Amazon.co.uk, with a clear note on which ones come without a battery.

How we chose: I compared popular cordless leaf blowers on Amazon.co.uk, checking each listing on 21 October 2026 (with a UK delivery postcode) for an add-to-cart button, whether a battery and charger are included, the model number, the maker's air speed and air volume figures, the weight and the warranty. I read recurring themes in owner feedback, particularly power, battery life and noise, and cross-checked against independent UK testing from BBC Gardeners' World, Good Housekeeping and The Telegraph. These products have not been tested hands-on; this is a research-based roundup. How the research works.
Cordless blowers have got good enough that most suburban gardens don't need petrol or a cable. They're light, start instantly and are much quieter than petrol, which your neighbours will appreciate on a Sunday morning. They're best for clearing paths, patios, drives and lawns of dry or damp leaves, grass clippings and dust.
The big decision isn't the blower, it's the battery. Batteries are expensive and usually only fit one brand's range, so if you already own Bosch, Ryobi, Einhell or DeWalt tools, a bare tool (no battery or charger) that shares your existing batteries is the cheapest way in. Five of the seven picks below are bare tools; I've marked them clearly.
Who this guide is for: Gardeners with lawns, patios, paths or drives to clear in autumn, especially those who already own a cordless tool range. For big gardens with lots of trees, a blower-vac that collects and shreds leaves may suit you better (see the FAQs). For cleaning green algae off paving after the leaves are gone, see our pressure washers guide.

The picks in detail
Bosch UniversalLeafBlower 18V-130 with 2.5Ah battery and charger (06008A0670)
Best for: Small to medium gardens, and anyone starting from scratch with no batteries
- Battery
- Bosch 18V Power for All
- Air speed (maker)
- Up to 245km/h
- Weight
- 1.25kg
- Supplied
- With 2.5Ah battery and charger
Bosch's compact blower comes as a kit with a 2.5Ah battery and charger, so it's ready to go out of the box. It has a radial fan, two speed settings and a twist-and-click nozzle, and at about 1.25kg it can be used one-handed. The Telegraph named the UniversalLeafBlower 18V-130 its Best Value leaf blower. Bosch lists a two-year warranty. The battery fits the wider Bosch 18V “Power for All” range of garden and DIY tools.
Owners like how light and easy it is, and that it clears leaves from under plants and along paths. Opinions on power and battery life are mixed: some find it plenty for a typical garden, others want more for wet, matted leaves. If you already own a Bosch 18V battery, the bare-tool version is cheaper.
What owners and reviewers like
- Ready to use with battery and charger
- Light enough for one hand
- Battery fits other Bosch 18V tools
Watch-outs
- 2.5Ah battery limits runtime on big jobs
- Not the most powerful here
- Mixed views on wet leaves

- Bare tool (no battery or charger)
A long-running Ryobi ONE+ blower with a high-velocity nozzle (Ryobi quotes up to 245km/h) and a soft-grip handle. It's sold as a bare tool, so you'll need a Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery and charger. Ryobi lists a three-year warranty.
Owners praise the weight balance and the power for small areas, and some say it copes with damp leaves. It's an older design without variable speed, so if you want more control look at the brushless compact model below.
What owners and reviewers like
- Light and well balanced
- Three-year warranty
- Huge ONE+ battery range
Watch-outs

- Older design

Ryobi 18V ONE+ brushless compact blower RY18BLCXA-0 (bare tool)
Best for: Patios, paths, decking and drying the car, in a very small package
- Battery
- Ryobi 18V ONE+
- Air speed (maker)
- See listing
- Weight
- 1.1kg
- Supplied
- Bare tool, two nozzles
Ryobi calls this its lightest and most compact cordless leaf blower. It has a brushless motor, a variable-speed trigger with lock-on, an adjustable length and two interchangeable nozzles with rubberised tips. At around 1.1kg it's handy for patios, steps, decking, garages and even blowing water off a car.
Owners call it powerful for its size and good value. Battery life is the recurring complaint: on full power it drains small batteries quickly, so pair it with a 4Ah or bigger ONE+ battery if you have one.
What owners and reviewers like
- Very light and compact
- Variable speed and lock-on
- Two nozzles included
Watch-outs
- Bare tool only
- Drains small batteries quickly

Einhell GP-LB 18/200 Li E-Solo brushless leaf blower, Power X-Change (bare tool)
Best for: Einhell owners who want proper airflow for lawns as well as paths
- Battery
- Einhell 18V Power X-Change
- Air speed (maker)
- Up to 200km/h; 670m³/h airflow
- Weight
- 2.16kg
- Supplied
- Bare tool, wall mount
A full-size axial blower with a brushless motor, a turbo button and speed control shown on an LED display. Einhell quotes up to 670m³/h of air and 200km/h. Air volume (m³/h) matters as much as speed when you're shifting a carpet of leaves on grass, and this has plenty. It comes with a wall mount and a removable tube for storage.
Owners rate the build and power highly, with one even using it to clear snow. Battery life gets mixed reviews, especially on turbo. It's a bare tool, so you need an Einhell Power X-Change battery and charger.
What owners and reviewers like
- Strong airflow for lawns
- Brushless with turbo and speed control
- Wall mount included
Watch-outs
- Bare tool only
- Turbo drains batteries fast
- Heavier than compact blowers

Einhell GE-LB 36/210 Li E-Solo 36V (2 × 18V) leaf blower (bare tool)
Best for: Bigger gardens with lots of leaves, using two Power X-Change batteries
- Battery

- Air speed (maker)
- Up to 210km/h; 816m³/h airflow
- Weight
- 2.38kg
- Supplied
- Bare tool
This one runs on two 18V Power X-Change batteries at once for 36V, and Einhell quotes up to 816m³/h of airflow and 210km/h, the highest airflow figure here. It has a brushless motor, speed control, a turbo switch, a three-position tube with no tools needed, and a metal ring on the nozzle tip.
Owners describe it as impressively powerful on wet and dry leaves. You'll need two batteries (and ideally a twin charger), which adds to the cost if you're not already on Einhell.
What owners and reviewers like
- Highest airflow here
- Brushless with turbo
- Tool-free adjustable tube
Watch-outs
- Needs two batteries
- Heavier at 2.38kg

- Air speed (maker)
- Up to 250km/h
- Weight
- About 1.1kg (tool only)
- Supplied
- With battery and fast charger, 3 tubes
A compact hand-held blower that comes with an 18V battery and fast charger, plus three interchangeable tubes, so it doubles as a workshop duster or barbecue fire starter. Einhell quotes air speeds up to 250km/h and an LED display shows the speed setting.
Owners say it clears leaves, grass clippings and debris from drives and patios easily and is light to carry. With a small nozzle, it's better for hard surfaces than for a large lawn.
What owners and reviewers like
- Supplied with battery and charger
- Light and versatile
- Three nozzles
Watch-outs
- Narrow nozzle is slow on big lawns

- Air speed (maker)
- Up to 80m/s (about 288km/h)
- Weight
- 0.95kg
- Supplied
- Bare tool
A small, tough blower from DeWalt's trade range, designed for clearing work areas. DeWalt quotes air speed up to 80m/s and an 18,000rpm fan, with a variable-speed slider and trigger and a lock-on switch. At 0.95kg it's the lightest here. DeWalt lists a three-year limited warranty.
Owners call it powerful for its size and good value if you already have DeWalt batteries. Battery life comments are mixed. With a narrow nozzle and modest airflow, it's for paths, patios and garages rather than lawns.
What owners and reviewers like
- Lightest blower here
- Variable speed and lock-on
- Three-year limited warranty
Watch-outs
- Bare tool only
- Low airflow for lawns
- Pricey unless you're on DeWalt

Air speed vs air volume
Makers quote two numbers. Air speed (km/h or m/s) is how fast the air leaves the nozzle, which helps lift stuck, wet leaves from paving. Air volume (m³/h or CFM) is how much air moves, which is what pushes a big pile of leaves across a lawn. A small nozzle can give a high speed with little volume. For lawns, look at volume; for paths, steps and drives, speed matters more.
Bare tool or kit?
A bare tool comes without a battery or charger. It's much cheaper if you already have batteries from the same range, and a false economy if you don't, because a battery and charger can cost as much as the tool. Check the battery system on the listing: Bosch 18V Power for All, Ryobi ONE+, Einhell Power X-Change and DeWalt XR batteries aren't interchangeable.
Runtime depends on the battery size and the speed setting. Turbo modes can flatten a small battery in minutes. A 4Ah or larger battery suits leaf clearing; a spare battery lets you keep going while one charges.
Noise, neighbours and wildlife
Battery blowers are quieter than petrol, but they're still loud. Wear ear defenders for long sessions, avoid early mornings, and keep the speed down near windows. Councils can investigate persistent noise as a statutory nuisance, so be considerate.
Leave some leaves in borders and under hedges: they shelter insects, frogs and hedgehogs over winter. Before blowing into a pile, check for hedgehogs, and don't blast leaf heaps or compost bins. Fallen leaves make excellent leaf mould if you bag them up damp and leave them for a year or two.
Battery care over winter
Store lithium-ion batteries indoors rather than in a freezing shed, ideally part-charged, and follow the maker's charging advice. Clean leaves and dust out of the air intake after use. For a damp garage where tools are kept, a desiccant dehumidifier helps keep rust away.

FAQs
What is the best cordless leaf blower in the UK?
For most gardens with no existing batteries, the Bosch UniversalLeafBlower 18V-130 kit is a sensible all-rounder: light, supplied with a battery and charger, and named Best Value by The Telegraph. If you already own Ryobi, Einhell or DeWalt tools, buy the bare-tool blower for your battery system instead.
Are cordless leaf blowers powerful enough?
For paths, patios, drives and average lawns, yes. For very large gardens or deep, wet leaves, look for higher air volume (the Einhell GE-LB 36/210 has the highest figure here), a larger battery, or consider a corded or petrol machine.
Should I get a leaf blower or a blower vac?
A blower moves leaves into a pile; a blower-vac also sucks them up and shreds them into a bag, which is useful in gardens with lots of trees and small borders. Blower-vacs are heavier and bulkier. All the picks here are blowers only.
How long does a leaf blower battery last?
It depends on the battery size and speed. On a low setting with a 4Ah battery you might get 20 minutes or more; on turbo with a 2Ah battery it may be just a few minutes. Owner reviews of every model here mention battery life, so a spare battery is worth considering.
Do you get commission?
Yes. If you buy through the links on this page, Amazon may pay a small commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't affect which products are included. See the affiliate disclosure.
