How we chose: I picked popular characters from Jellycat's current UK range and checked each one on 22 October 2026: the Amazon.co.uk listing (with a UK delivery postcode) for size, seller and an add-to-basket button, the same character on jellycat.com for its size options, UK price and stock, and John Lewis, Selfridges and Harrods for the exact same size in stock. I only link to another shop when its page showed the same character and size with an add-to-bag button. Amazon review summaries were used for owner feedback where a listing had enough reviews. These products have not been tested hands-on; this is a research-based roundup. How the research works.
#ad This guide contains affiliate links. Jellycat is a London soft toy company founded in 1999, and its characters are known for very soft fur, slightly odd personalities and a lot of collectors. Most of the range is labelled suitable from birth (check the label on the exact toy), which makes a Jellycat one of the few presents that works for a newborn, a teenager and a grandparent.
One thing to know before you buy: almost every Jellycat on Amazon.co.uk is sold by a third-party seller, not by Amazon or Jellycat, and when I checked the prices were usually above Jellycat's own price. I've listed Jellycat's price for each pick so you can compare, and added links to jellycat.com, John Lewis, Selfridges or Harrods where they had the exact same toy in stock. Jellycat offers free UK standard delivery on orders over £50 and free UK returns, according to its product pages.
If you're buying for a collector who already has the classics, our guide to rare and retired Jellycats explains how to find retired characters, spot fakes and price-check on eBay. For more ideas see our Christmas gift guide, stocking fillers and gifts for teenagers.
Who this guide is for: Anyone buying for a baby, child, teenager or adult who loves soft toys, and people adding to a Jellycat collection. For a newborn, stick to toys labelled suitable from birth and avoid bag charms and keyrings, which have clips. For collectors, keep the paper tag on: collectors and toy valuers say original tags matter for resale.
Black Friday tip: Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026, and Amazon UK has opened its Black Friday Week sale about a week earlier in recent years. Before you buy, check the product’s price history: our Black Friday home buying guide explains how to spot a genuine deal and which picks to watch.

Classic Jellycats for any age
The characters Jellycat is best known for. They suit babies (check the label) through to adults.
Jellycat Bartholomew Bear, Medium (about 26–28cm)
Best for: A first teddy, or a cuddly present for any age
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium, 26cm
- Jellycat price
- £25
- Also at
- jellycat.com
Jellycat calls Bartholomew Bear its most popular teddy, and he's the bear the brand builds its outfits and seasonal versions around. The medium is the everyday size, about 26cm on Jellycat's site (Amazon's listing says 28cm), with soft brown fur. Jellycat also sells him from Tiny up to Really Big, and in outfits including the winter 'Alpine' version (£70 at Jellycat), so a collector may want a different look.
Amazon's review summary says customers are pleased with how he looks. When I checked, the Amazon listing was £32.50 from a third-party seller, against £25 on Jellycat's own site (medium, in stock), so compare before you buy.

- Small, 18cm
- Jellycat price

Jellycat describes Bashful Bunny as 'the dear little hopper that started it all', and the beige bunny with long floppy ears is the classic baby gift. The small is 18cm tall, an easy size for little hands. Jellycat sells Bashful Bunny in seven sizes from Tiny to Giant and can personalise the ears.
When I checked, John Lewis had this exact small beige bunny (H18 × W9 × D8cm) in stock for £18, while the Amazon listing was £28.60 from a third-party seller, with only a small number of ratings. Jellycat's own medium (31cm) was £25.

Jellycat Munro Scottie Dog, Medium
Best for: Dog lovers, and Scottish friends and family
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium
- Jellycat price
- £30

A black Scottie dog that Jellycat describes as a 'proud Scotspup' fond of shortbread. He's in Jellycat's current range in Medium and Big, and there's also a winter jumper version (sold by the National Trust shop, among others). He'd suit anyone who loves dogs, and pairs well with our gifts for dog lovers.
The Amazon listing (a third-party seller) showed only one left when I checked, at £42.75, while Jellycat had the medium in stock for £30. If the Amazon listing has sold out, buy from Jellycat.

Fun and foodie characters
Jellycat's funny side: the grumpy frog, the dancing penguin and the Amuseables food range that teenagers and adults collect.
Jellycat Peanut Penguin, Medium (23–24cm)
Best for: A wintry present that isn't a Christmas-only design
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium, 24cm
- Jellycat price
- £25
- Also at
- jellycat.com, Selfridges, Harrods
A round, soft penguin that Jellycat says 'lives for the rhythm'. He feels seasonal without being a Christmas decoration, so he'll stay out after January. He comes in Small, Medium, Large and Really Big.
This was the easiest pick to buy from a big UK shop: Jellycat (£25), Selfridges (£25) and Harrods (£24.95) all had the medium in stock when I checked. The Amazon listing was well rated by its few dozen reviewers, but was £39.98 from a third-party seller with two left.
What owners and reviewers like
- Winter feel without being Christmas-only
- Stocked by Selfridges and Harrods
- Well rated on Amazon

- Amazon price well above RRP

Jellycat Ricky Rain Frog, Medium
Best for: Teenagers, students and grumpy-but-lovable adults
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium
- Jellycat price
- £25
- Also at
- jellycat.com
Jellycat's 'most famous amphibian', with a permanently glum face (he can't swim, apparently). He's a long-running character in Medium and Large and a popular present for teenagers. Jellycat limits him to two per customer.
Amazon's review summary says customers find him super soft, huggable and good quality, and like his grumpy look, but several say he's smaller than they expected and many think he's pricey. The Amazon listing was £39.80 from a third-party seller when I checked; Jellycat had the medium for £25 (Harrods listed a 13cm Ricky at £24.95).
What owners and reviewers like
- Soft and huggable, say owners
- Funny grumpy face
- Long-running character
Watch-outs
- Smaller than some expect
- Amazon price above Jellycat's

Jellycat Amuseables Happy Boiled Egg (14cm)
Best for: Stocking fillers, Secret Santa and Amuseables collectors
- Size (Jellycat)
- One size, 14cm
- Jellycat price
- £18
- Also at
- jellycat.com
Amuseables are Jellycat's range of smiling foods and objects, and they're what most adult collectors start with. The Happy Boiled Egg is a 14cm egg with a yolk top and cord feet, and at £18 from Jellycat it's one of the cheaper ways to give a 'real' Jellycat. It would work in our Secret Santa under £20 ideas if you buy direct.
Amazon's review summary says customers find it cute, with one mentioning that their daughter was thrilled. The Amazon listing was £29.66 from a third-party seller with one left when I checked, so Jellycat's own site (£18, in stock) is the better buy.
What owners and reviewers like
- Cheapest pick at Jellycat's price
- Amuseables are very collectable
- Fits a stocking
Watch-outs
- Amazon price far above £18
- One left on Amazon when checked

Sold out at Jellycat, still on Amazon
Both of these were out of stock on jellycat.com when I checked (not retired), but Amazon sellers still had them. Expect to pay more than Jellycat's usual price.
Jellycat Tumblie Sheep Dog, Medium (about 35cm long)
Best for: Someone who wants a big, floppy cuddle
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium
- Jellycat price
- £28 (out of stock)
- Also at
- –
A shaggy, floppy grey-and-white sheepdog about 35cm long, designed to lie flat. Jellycat lists her at £28 but was out of stock when I checked, with a limit of two per customer when she's back.
Amazon's review summary says customers find her soft, cuddly and just like the picture, but views on size and value are mixed: some say she's smaller than expected and some find her overpriced. The Amazon listing was £50.02 from a third-party seller.
What owners and reviewers like
- Soft and cuddly, say owners
- Looks like the photos
- Available now on Amazon
Watch-outs
- Much more than Jellycat's £28
- Some find it smaller than expected

Jellycat Fuddlewuddle Elephant, Medium (23cm)
Best for: Toddlers who like a toy with a bit of texture
- Size (Jellycat)
- Medium, 23cm
- Jellycat price
- £27 (out of stock)
- Also at

Fuddlewuddles have rippled, textured fur rather than the smooth Bashful fur. This 23cm elephant was out of stock on jellycat.com (listed at £27) when I checked, but Amazon sellers had it.
Amazon's review summary describes it as high quality and gorgeous. It was £41.89 from a third-party seller with seven left, so check whether Jellycat has restocked first.
What owners and reviewers like
- Textured fur
- High quality, say owners
- Good toddler size
Watch-outs
- Out of stock at Jellycat
- Amazon price well above Jellycat's

Which size to buy
Jellycat sizes vary by character, so check the measurements rather than the name. As a rough guide from the pages I checked: Small Bashful Bunny is 18cm, Medium Bashful Bunny 31cm, Medium Bartholomew Bear 26cm and Medium Peanut Penguin 24cm. Medium is the classic gift size; Small and Tiny suit babies and stockings; Large and above make a statement but take up a lot of room.
Is it genuine? Buying Jellycat safely
Jellycat says the only way to be sure a Jellycat is genuine is to buy it from jellycat.com or an authorised stockist, and that it can't authenticate toys from photos or batch codes. Amazon listings are usually third-party sellers, so check the seller's rating and returns policy, look for the Jellycat fabric tag and paper tag on arrival, and use Amazon's A-to-z Guarantee if something isn't right. Jellycat's store locator lists more than 1,200 independent UK stockists. Our rare Jellycats guide has a full checklist for spotting fakes.
What's new for winter 2026
Jellycat's site was showing new winter characters in late October 2026, including Amuseables Fitzsnug Mitten (£30), Amuseables Scarffles Hot Chocolate (£33), Birchly Moose (£45) and Bartholomew Bear 'Alpine' (£70). These weren't on Amazon at sensible prices when I checked, so buy them from jellycat.com or a stockist. Seasonal designs tend to sell out and are often retired after one season, which is part of why collectors chase them.
Where else to buy Jellycat in the UK
Big department stores (John Lewis, Selfridges and Harrods), Hamleys, many garden centres and gift shops, and heritage shops including the National Trust and English Heritage shops all sell Jellycat. In London, Harrods has a Jellycat Airlines shop on the fourth floor, Selfridges London has the Fish & Chips experience in its Toyshop, and Jellycat Brunch opens at Harrods on 30 November 2026 (booking needed). Our rare Jellycats guide lists more places to look.

FAQs
What is the most popular Jellycat?
Jellycat calls Bartholomew Bear its most popular teddy bear, and Bashful Bunny is the character it says 'started it all'. Amuseables, the smiling food range, are the most collected by teenagers and adults.
Are Jellycats suitable for babies?
Most are labelled suitable from birth, but always check the label on the exact toy. Bag charms, keyrings and decorations aren't designed as baby toys.
Why are Jellycats more expensive on Amazon?
Most Jellycat listings on Amazon.co.uk are run by third-party sellers rather than Jellycat or Amazon, and when I checked on 22 October 2026 their prices were usually above Jellycat's own. Compare with jellycat.com, John Lewis, Selfridges and Harrods before you buy.
Can you personalise a Jellycat?
Yes. Jellycat offers personalisation on some characters, including embroidered Bashful Bunny ears and Bartholomew Bear jumpers, on its own site.
Do you get commission?
Yes. If you buy through Amazon links on this page I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and links to other shops may earn a commission via Skimlinks. It doesn't affect which toys are included. See the affiliate disclosure.
