TVs are one of the biggest Black Friday categories, and one of the easiest to get wrong. Here are eight 55-inch OLED and Mini LED TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, Hisense and TCL worth watching, the model codes to match, and four checks that tell you whether a TV deal is genuine.

How we chose: I shortlisted 2026 and late-2025 55-inch OLED and Mini LED TVs from the five brands that dominate UK TV sales, then checked each manufacturer's UK product or specification page for the panel type, refresh rate and HDR formats. On 24 October 2026 I reopened every Amazon.co.uk listing with a UK delivery postcode to check it was the same model, in stock, with an add-to-basket button. I don't predict which TVs will be discounted or by how much, and I don't show prices, because they change constantly. Deal advice comes from Which?'s price investigations and the Competition and Markets Authority (sources below). I haven't tested these TVs myself. These products have not been tested hands-on; this is a research-based roundup. How the research works.

#ad This page contains affiliate links. Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November. As of 24 October 2026 Amazon UK hasn't announced its Black Friday Week dates; in 2024 and 2025 it opened about a week before Black Friday and ran to Cyber Monday.

TVs get some of the biggest headline discounts of the year in November, but Which? has repeatedly found that most Black Friday prices can be matched or beaten at other times. In its study of the 2024 sales, a 2024 Samsung 55-inch Mini LED TV at AO was cheaper than its Black Friday price for 134 days in the six months that followed. Good TV deals do exist: you just need a shortlist, the exact model code and today's price written down before the sales start.

This page covers 55-inch premium TVs, because that's the size and price range where Black Friday savings are biggest in pounds. If your budget is lower, our best TVs under £500 guide covers 43 to 55-inch sets from Hisense, TCL, Samsung and LG. For washing machines, fridge freezers and dishwashers, see our Black Friday appliance deals page, and for everything else, our Black Friday deals hub. I'll update this page with genuine deals as they go live, and only when a price is low compared with that TV's own price history.

Who this guide is for: Anyone planning to buy a mid-range or premium TV in the November sales who wants a shortlist before the rush, and a quick way to check whether a Black Friday TV price is really a saving. It's most useful for 55-inch buyers; most of these TVs come in 48 to 83-inch sizes too, but specs can differ by size.

OLED TVs to watch

OLED TVs light each pixel individually, so blacks are truly black and contrast is excellent in a dim room. They cost more than LED TVs of the same size, which is why Black Friday savings on them tend to be large in pounds.

1
Best all-round OLED to watch

LG OLED evo AI C6 55-inch 4K smart TV (OLED55C65LA, 2026)

Best for: Films, sport and gaming in one TV

Type

Refresh rate (maker's figure)
120Hz native, VRR up to 165Hz
HDR formats
Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG
Model code to match (55in)
OLED55C65LA

LG's C-series is the OLED most people shortlist. LG's UK spec page lists the 2026 C6 with its α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3, a 120Hz panel with VRR up to 165Hz, G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility, Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, 40W 2.2-channel sound with Dolby Atmos, and webOS. LG covers the panel under its OLED Care+ for five years. It's sold by Amazon.

It's also sold in 42, 48, 65, 77 and 83-inch sizes, and Amazon lists bundles with LG soundbars. Make sure you're comparing the TV on its own, in the size you want, before judging a discount.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
  • Up to 165Hz for PC and console gaming
  • Five-year panel cover from LG

Watch-outs

  • Not as bright as Mini LED in a sunny room

2
Cheapest LG OLED to watch

LG OLED AI B6 55-inch 4K smart TV (OLED55B65LA, 2026)

Best for: OLED contrast for less than the C6

Type
OLED
Refresh rate (maker's figure)
120Hz native, VRR up to 120Hz
HDR formats
Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG
Model code to match (55in)
OLED55B65LA

The B6 is LG's entry OLED for 2026. It uses the simpler α8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 and tops out at 120Hz rather than 165Hz, according to LG's UK page, but keeps OLED's perfect blacks, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode and webOS. It's sold by Amazon.

If you mainly watch films and TV in the evening and don't need the C6's extra brightness and gaming headroom, this is the OLED to watch. It's worth comparing against last year's B5 and C5 if you can still find them: Which? says previous-year TVs are often the cheapest way into a range.

What owners and reviewers like

  • OLED picture for less
  • Dolby Vision and Atmos
  • 4K 120Hz for consoles

Watch-outs

  • Dimmer than the C6
  • Fewer gaming extras

3
Best OLED for bright rooms to watch

Samsung S90H 55-inch OLED 4K Vision AI smart TV (QE55S90HAEXXU, 2026)

Best for: OLED in a room with windows and lamps

Type
OLED, Glare Free screen
Refresh rate (maker's figure)
100Hz native, 165Hz VRR
HDR formats
HDR10+, HDR10, HLG (no Dolby Vision)
Model code to match (55in)
QE55S90H

Samsung's S90H pairs an OLED panel with its Glare Free anti-reflection screen, which helps in a bright living room. Samsung's UK page lists the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, Motion Xcelerator 165Hz, HDR10+, 40W 2.1-channel sound with Dolby Atmos and Object Tracking Sound Lite, and four HDMI 2.1 ports. Like all Samsung TVs it doesn't support Dolby Vision, which matters if you watch a lot of Netflix or Disney+ in Dolby Vision. On Amazon.co.uk it's sold by PRC Direct and dispatched by Amazon.

Samsung often runs cashback offers alongside retailer discounts, and has offered a free five-year warranty on registered TVs in 2026. Check the terms and dates, as these can change the real price more than the headline discount.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Anti-glare screen
  • 165Hz for gaming
  • Four HDMI 2.1 ports

Watch-outs

  • No Dolby Vision
  • Third-party seller on Amazon

4
Best for films to watch

Sony BRAVIA 8 II 55-inch QD-OLED 4K Google TV (K-55XR8M2, 2025)

Best for: Film fans and PlayStation 5 owners

Type
QD-OLED
Refresh rate (maker's figure)
120Hz
HDR formats
Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG
Model code to match (55in)
K-55XR8M2 (Amazon: K55XR8M25BP)

Sony's Bravia 8 II uses a QD-OLED panel, which Sony says gives its widest-ever colour palette, and Acoustic Surface Audio+, where the screen itself acts as the speaker. Sony's UK spec page lists a 120Hz panel; the TV has Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Google TV and two 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz, VRR and ALLM. On Amazon.co.uk it's sold by Sony's own Sony Store Online Marketplace with a five-year warranty mentioned in the listing.

This is a 2025 model, so it has been on sale for a while and could see bigger reductions as 2026 models settle in. Amazon lists it as K55XR8M25BP, a retail variant code of Sony's K-55XR8M2, so check the size and code carefully when comparing shops.

What owners and reviewers like

  • QD-OLED colour
  • Sound from the screen
  • Sold by Sony on Amazon

Watch-outs

  • Only two full-speed HDMI 2.1 ports
  • Usually the priciest TV here

Mini LED TVs to watch

Mini LED TVs use thousands of tiny LEDs behind an LCD panel, dimmed in zones. They get much brighter than OLED, which suits sunny rooms and daytime sport, and they usually cost less for the same size.

5
Best Samsung Mini LED to watch

Samsung QN80H 55-inch Neo QLED 4K Mini LED smart TV (QE55QN80HAUXXU, 2026)

Best for: Bright rooms, sport and Samsung's Tizen apps

Type
Neo QLED Mini LED
Refresh rate (maker's figure)
100Hz native, 144Hz VRR
HDR formats
HDR10+, HDR10, HLG (no Dolby Vision)
Model code to match (55in)
QE55QN80H

Samsung's QN80H is its mid-range Mini LED for 2026. Samsung's UK page lists Quantum Mini LED full-array dimming, the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, a 100Hz panel with 144Hz VRR, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos with OTS Lite, four 4K 144Hz HDMI ports and Wi-Fi 6E. Like other Samsungs it skips Dolby Vision. On Amazon.co.uk it's sold by PRC Direct and dispatched by Amazon.

If you'd consider an OLED but your living room is bright, this is a sensible alternative. Check the model letter: H is 2026, while the older QN80F (2025) and QN80D (2024) may still be on sale for less.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Bright Mini LED picture
  • 144Hz gaming
  • Solar-charged remote

Watch-outs

  • No Dolby Vision
  • Third-party seller on Amazon

Best value Mini LED to watch

Hisense 55U7QTUK 55-inch Mini LED ULED 4K smart TV (2025)

Best for: A bright, gaming-ready TV without a premium price

Type

Refresh rate (maker's figure)
144Hz native
HDR formats
Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10, HLG
Model code to match (55in)
55U7QTUK

Hisense's U7Q covers a lot for the money on paper. Hisense UK's spec sheet lists Mini LED local dimming, a native 144Hz panel with VRR on two HDMI 2.1 ports, under 7ms input lag at 4K 120Hz, Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, and 2.1-channel sound with a built-in 20W subwoofer and Dolby Atmos. It runs Hisense's VIDAA smart platform and supports Freely, the aerial-free live TV service. It's sold by Amazon.

Watch for the PRO version (55U7QTUK PRO) and the 2026 U7S: they have different specs, so don't assume a deal on one applies to the other.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Dolby Vision and HDR10+
  • 144Hz gaming
  • Built-in subwoofer

Watch-outs

  • Only two 144Hz HDMI ports
  • VIDAA has fewer apps than Google TV

Best Google TV Mini LED to watch

TCL 55C6K-UK 55-inch QD-Mini LED 4K Google TV

Best for: Google TV fans who want Mini LED for less

Type
QD-Mini LED
Refresh rate (maker's figure)

HDR formats
Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+
Model code to match (55in)
55C6K-UK

TCL's C6K combines a QD-Mini LED backlight with an HVA panel, a native 144Hz refresh rate, Google TV and an ONKYO 2.1-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos, according to TCL UK. TCL's 55-inch specification sheet lists 180 local dimming zones (the "up to 512 zones" figure on TCL's page applies to the 98-inch model) and four HDMI 2.1 inputs.

On Amazon.co.uk it was sold by a third-party seller (MYM Suppliers) and dispatched by Amazon when I checked. Look at who the seller is on the day, and compare with TCL's UK stockists, before you buy.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Google TV
  • 144Hz with four HDMI 2.1 ports
  • Dolby Vision IQ

Watch-outs

  • Fewer dimming zones than pricier sets
  • Third-party seller on Amazon

Brightest TV to watch

TCL 55C7L-UK 55-inch SQD-Mini LED 4K Google TV (2026)

Best for: Very bright rooms and HDR highlights

Type
SQD-Mini LED
Refresh rate (maker's figure)
144Hz native
HDR formats
Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+
Model code to match (55in)
55C7L-UK

TCL's 2026 C7L is the step up. TCL UK lists 800 precise dimming zones on the 55-inch model, up to 2,700 nits peak brightness, a native 144Hz panel and Google TV; the Amazon listing adds Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, IMAX Enhanced, FreeSync Premium Pro and sound tuned by Bang & Olufsen. It's sold by Amazon.

This is a new model, so Black Friday may be its first big sale and there's little price history to compare against. Peak brightness figures are each maker's own and aren't directly comparable between brands.

What owners and reviewers like

  • Very high claimed brightness
  • 800 dimming zones at 55in
  • Sold by Amazon

Watch-outs

  • New model, little price history yet
  • Brightness figures are TCL's own

Which? tracked 175 products across eight major retailers for a full year around Black Friday 2024 and found that 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the four-week sale period. None was at its cheapest only on Black Friday itself. Four checks before you buy a TV:

  1. Check the price history, not the "was" price. Paste the Amazon.co.uk link into a free tracker such as CamelCamelCamel or Keepa, and use a price comparison site for other shops. If today's price is at or near the lowest it has been, it's a good deal whatever the badge says.
  2. Match the exact model code and size. TV brands sell near-identical names across years and retailers. The code tells you the year: Samsung's 2026 TVs end in H (QE55S90H) and 2025 models in F; LG's 2026 OLEDs have a 6 (C6, B6) and 2025 models a 5. A bundle with a soundbar is not the same deal as the TV alone.
  3. Think in percentages. Which? points out that £400 off a £2,000 TV and £100 off a £500 TV are the same 20% saving. Big pound figures on premium TVs can look better than they are.
  4. Check the seller, warranty and delivery. On Amazon, the seller can change from day to day. Some of the TVs above are sold by Amazon and some by third-party retailers, and manufacturer extras such as cashback or five-year warranties usually need registering within a set time.

Ignore countdown timers and "only 2 left" pressure. The Competition and Markets Authority says misleading countdown timers are banned under consumer rules that took effect in April 2025, and it launched a consumer protection drive on online pricing in November 2025.

  • OLED (LG C6 and B6, Samsung S90H, Sony Bravia 8 II) gives perfect blacks and wide viewing angles, and looks best in a dim room in the evening.
  • Mini LED (Samsung QN80H, Hisense U7Q, TCL C6K and C7L) gets much brighter, which suits sunny rooms and daytime sport, and usually costs less for the same size. Blacks aren't quite as deep, and you may see slight glow around bright objects on a dark background.
  • Dolby Vision is supported by LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL but not by Samsung, which uses HDR10+ instead. Both look good; it matters most if you watch a lot of Dolby Vision content on Netflix, Disney+ or Apple TV+.
  • Gamers with a PS5 or Xbox Series X should look for 4K 120Hz on at least two HDMI 2.1 ports. Everything on this page has that.

It's a good time, but not the only one. Which?'s TV expert says the cheapest point in a TV's life is usually late in its run, and that waiting until at least March often gets you the lowest price on a model launched the previous spring. Last year's models can also be cheaper than this year's equivalents.

If your current TV has died or you want it for Christmas, the November sales are a fine time to buy, as long as the price checks out against the TV's own history. If you're not in a hurry, note today's price on your shortlist and keep watching into the new year.

A bigger, brighter TV uses more electricity, but for most households the difference is small. Samsung's 55-inch S90H, for example, is listed by retailers at 76W in standard mode. At the October to December 2026 Ofgem price cap of 26.32p per kWh, that's about 2p an hour. HDR uses more.

Measure the space and your seating distance before choosing a size, and check the stand width or VESA wall-mount pattern. You need a TV licence to watch or record live TV on any channel, or to use BBC iPlayer, whichever TV you buy.

FAQs

When is Black Friday 2026 in the UK?

Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Many UK retailers start Black Friday offers earlier in November.

Are Black Friday TV deals real?

Some are. Which? found that most Black Friday prices were matched or beaten at other times of the year. Check the TV's price history with a tracker such as CamelCamelCamel or Keepa, and match the exact model code and size before you buy.

Which TV brands support Dolby Vision?

LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL TVs on this page support Dolby Vision. Samsung TVs don't; they use HDR10+ instead.

Should I buy last year's TV model on Black Friday?

It can be the best value. Which? says previous-year TVs are often cheaper than equivalent new models, though they may not have the biggest discounts because their prices have already fallen.

Will you list TV deals here?

Yes. I'll add deals on these TVs as they go live, and only when the price is genuinely low compared with the TV's own price history. I won't list a discount I can't check.

Have you tested these TVs?

No. This is a research-based shortlist built from manufacturers' UK specifications, retailer listings and independent advice. I don't own or test the products. See how we research.

Do you get commission?

Yes. If you buy through links on this page, Amazon may pay me a small commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't affect which TVs are included. See the affiliate disclosure.

Prices change constantly, so we don’t list them here. Always check the current price, seller and delivery details on Amazon before buying. If anything on this page looks wrong or out of date, let me know.
